What Are Cookies and Why Are They Used?

A cookie is a small piece of data (text file) that a website — when visited by a user — asks the browser to store on your device in order to remember information about you, such as your language preference or login information.

Below is a detailed list of the cookies used by Kubota Engine America Corporation on the website. The website is scanned every month with a third-party cookie scanning tool to maintain a list as accurate as possible.

The cookies are classified as follows:

  • Strictly Necessary Cookies
  • Performance Cookies
  • Functional Cookies
  • Targeting Cookies

Visitors can opt-out of each cookie category (except strictly necessary cookies) by clicking adjusting their cookie settings.

Cookie Choices and Consent

Visitors have three options: accept cookies, reject cookies or customize settings (accept some cookies and reject others).

Visitors may still use Kubota website after rejecting the cookies by using any of the provided features, and tracking information will not be collected. However, visitors will not enjoy the benefits from the use of cookies, such as recognition of repeat users or provision of advertisements related to specific products that may be of interest to potential individual customers.

By using Kubota websites and online services, visitors agree to the collection of certain information that Kubota uses to improve the websites’ functionality. This information is not tied to individuals personally, but is used “in aggregate” to better understand demographics of website visitors (such as location and language), what web pages visitors are most often browsing, the amount of time spent on each page, the device type used to visit the given website, and other technically and commercially relevant information.

Information Collected When Cookies Are Accepted

Visitors who accept the cookies will opt-in to the collection of some information tied to online activities via certain online tracking mechanisms.

The collected information regarding individual browsing activities includes the following:

  • IP address
  • Device type
  • Operating system
  • Browser language
  • Web pages visited, time on the website, and total number of pages viewed
  • Network service provider

Targeted Advertising and Third-Party Providers

If visitors opt-in to Kubota’s cookies on the banner (Accept Cookies), third party ad network providers may be deployed to help present targeted advertising.

These providers sometimes place and access cookies, pixel tags, or similar technologies on individual devices to serve ads or other content personalized to identified interests, which they infer from location and/or browsing data on the platform and other sites individuals are known to have visited.

In this manner, the provider is authorized to access and collect information such as individual browsing history.

Cookie List and Tracking Technologies

Kubota maintains a full and up-to-date list of online tracking technologies deployed on various websites so visitors can better understand what information may be collected during visits to company websites.

The list is provided in the next section called “Cookie List” below.

Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers have a “do not track” feature that allows visitors to directly prevent websites from tracking online activities. These features are not yet uniform, and so Kubota is not currently configured and enabled to respond to such aggregated signals.

However, visitors declining the Kubota’s cookies on the banner (Reject Cookies) upon first log-on to a website will not be tracked. Visitors may have to opt-out separately via each browser and subsequent devices used.

Website (Browser) Opt-Out

Visitors have the ability to manage cookie settings. For example, a visitor can configure the browser to accept all cookies, reject all cookies, or notify when a cookie is set.

If certain cookie types are disabled, however, it may interfere with the functionality of the website and visitors may not be able to use all of the site’s features.

Our cookie banner and custom settings allow the management for categories of cookies. However, details on how visitors can control and delete specific cookies including strictly necessary cookies through browser settings can be found through the browser’s vendor specific settings or options page.
