At Kubota Engine America, giving back is an important part of who we are. Since the Kubota Kares program launched in 2018, our employees have continued to find meaningful ways to get involved and support the communities where we live and work.

So far in 2026, the Kubota Kares team has supported two familiar community partners: Northern Illinois Food Bank and United Way of Lake County. Through hands-on volunteering and donations, our employees are helping address food insecurity and prepare local students for a successful school year.

Packing 12,500 Meals With Northern Illinois Food Bank 

This year, Kubota Engine America’s largest volunteer group yet joined Northern Illinois Food Bank to help provide food for neighbors across our communities. 

Twenty-four Kubota Kares volunteers packed 15,500 pounds of grapefruit into 5-pound bags. Together, their work helped provide 12,500 meals for individuals and families throughout the region.

The event gave employees an opportunity to work side by side toward a shared goal while supporting Northern Illinois Food Bank’s efforts to provide nutritious food to neighbors facing hunger. We are proud of the time, energy and care our volunteers brought to this effort. 

Preparing Local Students for the School Year 

Kubota Kares continued its support of United Way of Lake County’s Stuff the Bus initiative, which helps provide local students with the supplies they need to begin the school year prepared to learn. 

This year, the Kubota Kares team filled more than 63 backpacks with school supplies, doubling the number completed last year. Kubota Engine America hosted a swag sale where 100% of proceeds went to the United Way initiative. With this and along with KEA’s additional donation, we were able to raise $3800 to support the initiative. We are grateful to all those who purchased from the swag sale and the volunteers who helped pull this year’s program to completion.

Together, these efforts reflect the heart of Kubota Kares and the difference employees can make when they unite around a shared purpose. From helping provide meals for local families to preparing students for a successful school year, Kubota Engine America remains committed to supporting the communities where we live and work.
