When the Kubota Kares program at Kubota Engine America (KEA) launched back in 2018, its mission was simple – get involved and give back to the community. While navigating the challenges of a pandemic, Kubota’s program and mission took a brief pause but has grown substantially since then.
Over the last five years, KEA has worked closely with Northern Illinois Food Bank (NIFB) and their Easy Eats meal packing event, where volunteers help pack easy-to-make meals for families in need. KEA made a $30,000 donation to the NIFB, contributing to their initiative of solving hunger. By supporting the food bank, KEA is determined to help build a stronger community, from nourishing families in need year-round with easier access to fresh, nutritious food to connecting neighbors with resources that can help.
In November of 2022, we were proud to partner with the food bank and were a sponsor for their big holiday meal packing event at their facility in Geneva, IL. A group of volunteers from KEA packed 612 boxes (5,814 meals) for our community. This April, KEA hosted an Easy Eats event onsite and with the help of 60 volunteers we packed 500 meals in just a couple of ours.
All these experiences present opportunities for the KEA team to unite around a shared goal and see how a little bit of good goes a long way. Interested in learning more about the Northern Illinois Food Bank? Click here to check out their initiatives.
